Coralville, IA – It appears the on-again-off-again event is finally taking shape with the selection of a site for the event. Serious planning has begun for the event to be held this September. There are still obstacles to be overcome, but none are too big for the planning committee to solve. Iowa River Landing will play host to the first annual event.
Of course, there is the looming COVID-19 situation. The planning committee will work very closely with local health officials to ensure the safest possible environment. First, the event will be outside. This will help to allow for proper distancing for all that want to attend.
It’s been the grassroots support for this event that has been the driving force to hold this event. This support has been growing in momentum ever since the idea was first proposed. This event is about the local LGBTQ+ community, friends, and allies, and without their support, there would be no fall PrideFrest. Of course, all are welcome to attend. Everyone from Iowa City, Coralville, North Liberty, Tiffin, and all of Johnson County should feel like this event is for them. It’s also an event for the students at the University of Iowa and Kirkwood College. This is the only local PrideFest held while school is in session.
Exact details on vendors, sponsors, entertainers are still too early to announce, but the attendees can count on an event that will have something for everyone. If you’re interested in becoming a vendor or sponsor, please contact Tim Nedoba at tim@ROMLLC.us or (319) 800-3223.
Coralville Fall PrideFest is about fun, food, family, and community. The event is family-friendly. All are welcome.
